Rare vintage Rörstrand blue stoneware teapot. Designed by Signe Persson-Melin, Sweden 1980s. In excellent vintage condition, underside signed "R (three crowns) Signe Persson-Melin 210". Dimensions: Length 19 cm, height 16 cm Signe Persson-Melin (1925-2022) was a Swedish industrial designer known for her minimalist and functional approach to design. Her breakthrough came at the H55 exhibition in Helsingborg with a series of spice jars in white-glazed ceramic. She established her own workshop in the 1950s and went on to design for companies such as Höganäs, Boda Nova and Rörstrand. In 1985, she was appointed Sweden's first professor of glass and ceramic design. She is recognised as a key figure in Swedish design history and her works are represented in many international museum collections.
